Guided Endodontics for Calcified Posterior Teeth

This journal pre-proof details a study evaluating the effectiveness of a miniaturized dynamic navigation system for preparing endodontic access cavities in calcified posterior teeth, comparing it to the conventional freehand method. The researchers used 3D-printed tooth replicas and CBCT scans to measure substance loss during the procedure, performed by operators with differing levels of experience. The findings suggest that dynamic navigation leads to significantly less tooth material removal overall, and crucially, it appears to level the playing field for less experienced dentists, allowing them to achieve results comparable to those of experienced specialists.
